More than 17 years after the abduction and murder of North Port mother Denise Amber Lee, the 54-year-old man convicted of killing her is scheduled to be executed.
Prosecutors said Michael King randomly targeted the 21-year-old mother of two on Jan. 17, 2008, abducting her from her home while her young children were inside.
Lee managed to make a desperate 911 call while being held captive, and several witnesses reported seeing her struggle inside King’s car, but critical information failed to reach deputies in time…
