NORTH PORT — Engineers are nearly done designing the widening project of a portion of South River Road from two to four lanes, according to documents posted recently.
While the project will widen an already busy 7.3 miles of South River Road, and several miles of Winchester Boulevard, another busy, 2-mile stretch of the two-lane River Road is not included in the design project.
Officials said that part will eventually be widened, too, but they don’t have the funds to pay for it — at least not for the next five years…
