Homelessness rising in North Port as Salvation Army works to rebuild

NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) – Nearly four years after Hurricane Ian destroyed the Salvation Army’s North Port campus, homelessness is on the rise, especially among young adults and older residents.

The Salvation Army of Sarasota County says rapid population growth and rising rent prices are making it harder for people to find stable housing.
