One person charged with murder in connection to deadly fentanyl overdose in Florida

FLORIDA — A 44-year-old man has been charged with murder months after authorities say he sold drugs that led to a fatal overdose in Manatee County.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found 41-year-old Jonathan Watson dead in late October near Sunset Circle North in Ellenton. Investigators determined Watson died from a suspected overdose.

Detectives later uncovered evidence of cocaine use and reviewed text messages indicating Watson had arranged to purchase drugs from Toby Davis the day before his death…
