SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A charity event was held at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota over the weekend to raise money for the Sarasota Little League after thousands of dollars were stolen.
Officials say Anisha Turner, the treasurer of the board with the Little League, stole more than $200,000 from an account that was supposed to fund league expenses like umpires, uniforms and field maintenance.
