SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) β Sarasota County Schools is hosting heart screening events for student athletes this week, ahead of a new statewide requirement set to take effect in July.
The screenings are part of a law passed during the 2025 legislative session, requiring first-time student athletes to get an electrocardiogram, or ECG, before participating in sports.
