SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Sarasota Police Department has released crime statistics for 2025, showing the overall crime rate in the city decreased 18% last year.
In a presentation to the Sarasota City Commission April 20, Chief Rex Troche told commissioners it was the third year of crime rate declines, following a 21.8% drop in 2024 and a 16.2% drop in 2023, “demonstrating a sustained, multi-year trend of improved public safety across the City of Sarasota,” a news release said.
