Shore plans return to St. Armands Circle with new, flood-resilient design

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — A popular business on St. Armands Circle that left the island after back-to-back hurricanes is planning a comeback.

Shore closed in 2024 after more than 15 years on the circle following significant damage during Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The business saw several feet of saltwater intrusion during both storms.

That, plus infrastructure concerns on the barrier island, ultimately prompted the Leonard family to step away.
