Convicted felon arrested, guns, drugs seized in Jasper County

JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) — A previously convicted felon was arrested Monday in Jasper County following the discovery and seizure of guns and drugs, a Jasper County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.

Da’Quan Johnson was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of certain crimes and one count of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Johnson had an active warrant from Beaufort County. While Jasper County deputies took him into custody, they reportedly detected a strong smell of marijuana and obtained a search warrant.

When the residence was searched, three firearms, ammunition, magazines, including a drum magazine, marijuana, THC-infused gummies and two pills believed to be Schedule II controlled substances were found…
