Savannah leaders make push for Bottoms, say Jackson, Burt will self-serve as governor

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — With Georgia’s primary election runoff just days away, more and more eyes have been drawn to the two Republicans seeking Republican nomination for the governor’s office.

Businessman Rick Jackson and Lt. Governor Burt Jones will be back on the ballot Tuesday, with both men hoping to make it to the general election in November. The GOP nominee will face off against Democratic Candidate and Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Four local leaders held a press conference Tuesday in Savannah to encourage Georgians to vote for Bottoms. The group, including Mayor Van Johnson, Public Service Commissioner Alicia Johnson and Chatham County Commissioner Aaron “Adot” Whitely, said Jones and Jackson both only care about themselves…
