SAVANNAH, Ga (WSAV) – Good morning – StormTeam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley here. Let’s have a fabulous Saturday!
Hot and humid once again today with high temperatures climbing into the mid 90s. A stray shower and storm will be possible through the afternoon and evening. Isolated storms could become strong and severe with gusty wind. Heat index values climb to 105-110° this afternoon. A moderate risk of rip currents is across our coast through tomorrow.
Sunday will be set to sizzle with highs in the mid to upper 90s. Models have been hinting all week that we could hit 100° here in Savannah. As of right now, our forecasted high remains below that triple-digit mark with a high at 97°. Even if we don’t reach 100°, it will still be dangerously humid. Heat index values will be around 110° for a couple of hours Sunday afternoon. Heat advisories could be issued for a couple of our counties tomorrow.
This heat will easily wear you down. Limit your time outside and find a way to stay cool…
