Savannah seeks public input on Canal District’s future

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Savannah residents will have an opportunity to help shape the future of the Canal District during a public open house next week.

The City of Savannah will host the discussion Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the ballroom of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center.

The event will include conversations about the neighborhood’s history, preservation efforts and proposed zoning changes. Interactive viewing stations will also allow residents to provide real-time input and feedback…
