CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — Multiple Chatham Area Transit employees were suspended after not adhering to a biometric time clock policy recently instituted, leading to a call to action to CAT’s board to intervene.
A letter obtained by WSAV, written by CAT CEO Stephanie Cutter, told union members they had to enroll by Sept. 18. Cutter said it did not represent a change in working conditions and therefore did not require collective bargaining.
A union spokesperson said the system is a condition of employment that should have been bargained. The spokesperson also said required notice was not given ahead of the policy’s implementation and is not being applied equally across the workforce…
