CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — Chatham County Sheriff Richard Coleman took to social media Sunday night, calling for a “gang unit” after a weekend shooting in downtown Savannah.
Officials are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday night on the 500 block of W. Bay St. after multiple ShotSpotter alerts, a Savannah Police Department spokesperson said.
“We’re going to call it what it is. This is gang behavior in Chatham County,” said Coleman. “These two thugs with this thug mentality, who are firing weapons, who don’t care nothing about people’s safety. They don’t care if they’re alive. They don’t care if they’re dead. We can’t have that mentality here in Chatham County.”…
