Hardeeville Fire takes over 3 stations under ‘Operation Phoenix’ aimed at cutting response times

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WTOC) – In emergencies where seconds can make all the difference, first responders across Jasper County are taking steps to ensure the closest unit responds when 911 is called.

At 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, the Hardeeville Fire Department officially entered the completion phase of Operation Phoenix, an initiative more than a year and a half in the making designed to streamline emergency response and optimize public safety resources throughout southern Jasper County.

Before the rollout, emergency crews often had to navigate overlapping jurisdictions to reach an emergency scene, sometimes even passing other ambulances and fire engines traveling in the opposite direction…
