SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their retired K-9s.
Ziggy died at home on Tuesday at the age of 13.
The K-9 lived with his retired handler Mike Drayton and was the department’s first gun dog, according to SPD.
Gun dogs are used to sniff out scents associated with firearms, like gunpowder residue.
Ziggy was taken to the Savannah Pet Cemetery where he will be cremated.
