On Sunday, January 21, 2024, Savannah Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated celebrated the 111th anniversary of the founding of the sorority by worshipping together during “Delta Sigma Theta Day” at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church. Founded by twenty-two women on January 13, 1913 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C., the sorority reflected upon one hundred and eleven years of “Sisterhood, Scholarship, Community Service and Social Action.” The subject of the message, “Don’t Forget What You Got (Have)” was taken from II Kings 4:1-7. In keeping with the church’s tithing to the community, the chapter’s scholarship program was financially supported by the church.
