RINCON, Ga (WSAV)- The City of Rincon is taking steps to add an emergency exit to its “Picket Fences” subdivision, a neighborhood that currently has just one in and one way out.
The Rincon Fire Department hosted a meeting in the Picket Fences subdivision to provide insight into the project, which is expected to cost roughly one million dollars. Only law enforcement and public safety agencies would have access to this gated road.
“We hope that building this will give homeowners piece of mind in the fact that we are working towards a greater cause in serving the people of this neighborhood,” said Lou Reid, the Rincon Fire Chief.
Rincon City Manager Jonathan Lynn admitted that the city might run into some obstacles as they start to move forward. but they will exercise everything in their power to ensure that this project gets completed.
“We understand we are going to have some issues, but we are ensuring the neighbors that we will use everything at our disposal to make sure that this happens,” said Lynn.
