SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Officials are warning the public that there will be a heavy presence of law enforcement officers in Midtown Savannah this Monday, Feb. 12 as several agencies conduct a safety drill at St. Joseph’s Hospital followed by decontamination drill activities at Memorial Hospital and Candler Hospital.
According to officials, local law enforcement is preparing for the event of an accidental release of tradition that is used in some medical equipment within the buildings.
The drill will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will involve multiple local agencies along with the United States 4th WMD-CIVIL SUPPORT TEAM, NRAD, CRT, and Department of Energy as well as Savannah Fire Rescue.
