HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WSAV)- The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), along with other local emergency services, is investigating a Friday morning active shooter incident.
The situation occurred at KBRS Home Center, south of Hardeeville. According to authorities, the suspect is in custody, and injuries were reported. One person was shot and transported to a Savannah hospital; the victim is expected to be okay.
The Hardeeville Police Department had 11 officers respond to the call as soon as it was received. They were able to apprehend the suspect within 14 minutes without incident, according to officials.
WSAV News 3 spoke with Majestical Washington who witnessed the shooting. The truck driver says he was picking up materials this morning from KBRS Inc. when he heard a man shooting in the building while taking a short break.
Washington said, “I thought I was going to die. I was like, No, this is it. I’m going to die, you know? And then I got I got five kids at home, you know, And that was so scary.”
