SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The 2024 Georgia primary is approaching fast, and the presidential race is right around the corner.
You can find voter registration paperwork at public libraries, town halls, and voter registration offices across Georgia. You can also register to vote online. The presidential primary in Georgia will be on March 12, and the deadline to register is on Monday, 30 days prior.
As of now, according to the Chatham County Voter Registration office, there are almost 229,000 people on the registry.
However, after unfounded claims of election interference and efforts to recertify the vote count in Georgia in the 2020 presidential race, some are apprehensive about the process this time around.
“I hope that the 2020 Georgian voters calamity will raise awareness and tighten protocols around protecting voters’ rights and the procedures leading up to correctly tallying votes…I’m being delicate when I say that,” Joni, a Chatham County resident said.
However, the Secretary of State’s office says there was no evidence of machine tampering or access issues in Savannah during the Georgia governor’s race.
