SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – In 2023, Chatham County saw 86 deaths due to drug overdoses. That’s up almost 46 percent from 2022. The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team director said one of the reasons why those overdose numbers are up so much in comparison to 2022 is in part because the team now has a better way of tracking that data.
