U.S. Senator Reverend Warnock pens letter to make GA the next home for Sundance

GEORGIA (WJBF) – U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock wants to bring Sundance to the Peach State.

U.S. Senator Warnock wrote a letter urging the Sundance Institute to give full and fair consideration to one of the three cities in Georgia bidding to host the Sundance Film Festival beginning in 2027.

According to the letter, the three cities are Athens, Atlanta, and Savannah, which is out of 15 cities nationwide that are seeking the coveted bid to host Sundance.

In the letter, Senator Warnock highlighted Georgia as a modern day entertainment, economic, and cultural powerhouse with the necessary infrastructure and amenities to support the festival dubbing Georgia as the “Hollywood of the South.”

“Emerging as the ‘Hollywood of the South,’ Georgia is a modern-day epicenter for visual storytelling.
