Celebrating its 35th year, the Brooklet Peanut Festival is kicking off its annual peanut celebration at 10am this Satruday, September 21, 2024 in downtown Brooklet. The festival began back in 1988 as a way to celebrate agriculture in the small community of Brooklet, located just outside of Statesboro, Georgia. Peanuts are “The Official State Crop of Georgia.” Georgia is a leading producer of peanuts, outproducing all other states combined. In 2023, Bulloch County grew 25,873 acres of certified peanuts. Thousands of people attend the event every year, enjoying the day-long festival, including a parade, vendors, live music, tractor races, and of course peanuts!
