United Way activates Rapid Response Disaster Fund in multiple counties

In the wake of the damage caused by Hurricane Helene, the United Way of the Coastal Empire has activated its Rapid Response Disaster Fund for residents across Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty and Long Counties, according to a press release.

The funds will provide support to those impacted in the region who require both immediate and long-term support.

United Way has activated the fund in partnership with the county-level Emergency Management Agencies across the region and will spearhead fundraising efforts for response and recovery. Funds will be allocated as determined necessary by the EMAs based on damage and needs assessments. Donations can be made to the fund through the website at ucwe.org .
