Families Against Book Bans to host trainings on how to be involved at BOE meetings

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) – Families Against Book Bans (FABB) Beaufort County is hosting two training sessions for those who want to be involved in advocacy at Board of Education meetings.

The first training session, Training for Student Advocates, will be on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church located at 157 Lady’s Island Dr. FABB says while this session will be geared towards students, anyone is welcome.

The second session, Training for All Advocates, will be on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Bluffton Library located at 120 Palmetto Way.

FABB says they will have 2 additional events this month that offers lessons on how school board meetings work, decisions that school boards make, and how you can advocate for or against those decisions.
