TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. – Tybee Island was prepared for coastal flooding and made plans to possibly close Highway 80. Due to Milton moving a bit quicker across Florida, winds along our coast were more north versus east-northeast. Add in the storm surge arriving at our coast closer to low tide the result was high tide did not reach the forecast of 10.4 from the National Weather Service.
