The top defensive lineman in the nation has announced his college commitment.
Elijah Griffin, a 5-star defensive tackle from Savannah Christian High School in Savannah, Ga., committed to the University of Georgia on Friday. Griffin chose the Bulldogs over Miami and USC, who were the other two finalists for him.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Griffin is the No. 1 defensive lineman in the nation and No. 4 player overall in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports . He was initially expected to extend his recruitment through the early signing period in December, but Griffin decided to commit to Georgia following his latest visit to Athens last weekend.
Griffin’s commitment to Georgia comes a day after the Bulldogs lost a 5-star quarterback recruit , so it did not take Kirby Smart long to get back in the win column.
