HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WSAV) – Novant Health, The owner of Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospital giving $1 million towards an affordable housing solution.
For the Coastal Community Development Corporation (CCDC), those bases are full of money and possibility.
“It’s a game changer for us on every level. as a parent, as an employer, as an employee. It touches all those different bases,” said Alan Wolf of CCDC.
Novant Health’s donation will go toward the non-profit. CCDC buys units in Hilton Head, Bluffton and all of Beaufort County to offer rents that serve a wide range of our workforce based on household income for workers there.
“We know that Hilton Head was a great starting point, but this was always meant to be solve for both sides of the bridge, have less cars on the road, driving more people being able to live where they work,” said Wolf.
Their goal, to keep rents between $1100 and $2000. A reasonable number for folks who work in health care, as teachers, firefighters or food and beverage, and want to live in the Lowcountry
