CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – In October 2024, the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) concluded a 14-month investigation into a drug trafficking organization based in Savannah.
The team worked closely with the District Attorney’s Office and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Counsel (PAC).
A grand jury in the Chatham County Superior Court of the Eastern Judicial Circuit handed down a 39-co-defendant indictment, charging the defendants with violations of the state’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
Law enforcement seized thirteen kilograms of Methamphetamine, more than one kilogram of Fentanyl, seventeen firearms, and $190,367.93 in US currency.
According to Chatham County, the organization attempted to deliver three kilograms of Methamphetamine into the area in January, but investigators interrupted the delivery and seized the Methamphetamine. In coordination with the Georgia Department of Corrections, investigators disrupted several attempts to introduce contraband into the prison system.
