SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) β The legacy of former Chatham County Commission Chairman and Savannah City Alderman Pete Liakakis will live on with the dedication of a new memorial highway in his honor.
Liakakis, who passed away two years ago at the age of 90, was honored at the Chatham County Board of Commissioners meeting Thursday for his lifetime of public service.
This newly named section of Highway 204 adds to his legacy, which also includes a government building that was dedicated to him in 2012 after significant renovations.
