SAVANNAH, Ga (WSAV) – Halloween is quickly approaching and is set for this upcoming Thursday! There are many outdoor activities set for Halloween like trunk or treats, trick-or-treating, and parties, so all eyes are on this year’s forecast.
Halloween weather can either be comfortable, or quite warm. We could also see showers and storms, or pleasant sunny skies. Let’s take a look back at the past five Halloweens.
Halloween has an average high right around 75 degrees and an average low right around 53 degrees. Halloween five years ago had a high of 90. That was our warmest Halloween in the past five years.
2020 and 2021 both had comfortable temperatures with highs in the low to mid-70s. Halloween the past two years in 2022 and 2023 had warm highs in the low 80s during the day, but fell to comfortable temperatures at night with lows in the low 60s.
The past five Halloweens have all been relatively dry as well with only a trace of rain recorded in 2019, 2020, and 2023.
What can we expect this year? Models are showing that we’ll see a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky throughout the day with warmer than average temperatures in the lower 80s. It stays dry throughout the day and at night for the trick-or-treaters!
