The Lowcountry of Georgia and South Carolina was recently recognized as a top destination worldwide for 2025, according to Lonely Planet .
This website specifically mentioned big-name cities, including Savannah. “This region has one of the country’s most vibrant food scenes, and its complicated history has thoughtfully come to the fore at the recently opened International African American Museum,” the website wrote.
Georgia was mentioned on the list as well as other major places, including Fiji, Paraguay, and Laos. The site gives the state a label of having a “sultry vibe” with miles of beaches and marshes.
Rachel Seeley, an athletic trainer, made the move to Savannah to enjoy the historic city’s great parks, which are perfect for walking and running.
Seeley told Lonely Planet, “‘I also love being close to the beach – lovely Tybee Island is less than 30 minutes away.'”
Savannah’s unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty makes it a must-visit destination for 2025.
