The Bryan County Sheriff’s Office and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Suppression Unit teamed up to take down several residents on the north end of Bryan County who were involved in drug-related activities. The investigation lasted several months and resulted in seven arrests. The arrests took place Oct. 25 and Oct. 29 in Ellabell.
The first arrest was made Oct. 25 off Greenbriar Trail where authorities seized fentanyl, tools to produce methamphetamine and a stolen firearm. On Oct. 29, authorities made several arrests on Homestead Drive where they collected fentanyl, prescription medications and materials associated with controlled substances.
According to a post on the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the following list details the name, age, city and list of charges.
The investigation led to the arrest of Richard Downs, 36, Austin Griffin, 28, Cody Griffin, 30, Courtney Huggins, 31, Kenneth Lane, 32, Kenneth Rose, 25 and Cheyenne Tillman, 21.
• Richard Downs, 36, of Ellabell, was arrested and charged Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a Crime and Trafficking Fentanyl.
