HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WSAV) – A big business move in the Lowcountry could become a reality Thursday.
The Hardeeville City Council is expected to approve plans for a Buc-ee’s near the interstate.
Mayor Harry Williams teased the travel center coming to the city during the State of the Region event last month.
On Thursday’s city council agenda, there is a proposal to approve a planned development district for the 46 acres between Highway 17, 278 and I-95.
The map shows an “unnamed travel center” as part of the commercial development that News 3 has learned will be a Buc-ee’s.
The commercial development would take place over eight years and include hotels, restaurants and retail stores near Exit 8.
The council will hear the whole plan during their meeting starting Thursday at 5 p.m.
