Due to tropical storms and hurricane rainfall , Savannah has experienced its share of flooding this year.
The area is once again under a flood advisory as a string of strong rain and storms pushes across the south portion of the state.
The National Weather Services issued the advisory for Bryan, Bulloch, Chatham, Effingham, Evans, Liberty, Long and Tattnall and southeast South Carolina, including the following county, Jasper, until 1 p.m. Thursday.
Around 11 a.m., the NWS reported that the doppler radar indicated heavy rain continuing to move into the area from the southwest. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will likely result in minor flooding for low-lying and poor drainage areas.
