LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – Hinesville hosted its annual Veteran’s Day parade this afternoon, which drew dozens to the streets of downtown to cheer on local veterans and military personnel.
Hinesville is home to the 3 rd Infantry Division (ID) at Fort Stewart and many veterans who reside there. The community is filled with men and women who fought for American freedoms and way of life. The Hinesville Veteran’s Day Parade, hosted by East Liberty County Legion Post 321, bringing its community to the streets of downtown to honor those who served in the military.
“…to be able to come out with all the soldiers and represent our country and such an integral time, especially with our elections just finishing up,” said Ericka Florence, Hinesville resident. “It’s really great to come out and have the community out supporting the people who are on the ground doing the work.”
Proud chants and cheers rippled throughout the town as the 3 rd ID, local veteran organizations and high school ROTC groups marched. Post Commander of Post 321, John Lamb said they have been preparing for this day for 6 months.
