JASPER COUNTY, S.C. – The Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office announced a man has been convicted after shooting the father of a woman in whom he had a romantic interest. On Oct. 9, 2022, around 12:25 a.m., a neighbor’s surveillance camera captured a man walking into the male victim’s backyard in Ridgeland, South Carolina. The neighbor called the victim to let him know someone was on his property. The victim went outside and stepped off the back porch when the suspect opened fire from underneath a red Dodge pickup truck.
