Combat Boots 2 The Boardroom hosts 5th Annual Gala

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Combat Boots 2 The Boardroom’s (CB2TB) 5th Annual Gala “United We Stand” and Lip Sync Battle was held on Saturday, at The DeSoto.

The Lip Sync Battle was a centerpiece of CB2TB’s Annual Gala, with an auction, live music, dinner, and the presentation of the 2024 Resilient Boots Storytelling Award to SSG Jose A. Melendez Torres (Ret.) and the Community Service Hero Award to Brian Duckworth.

This year, CB2TB, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been designated as a United Way Community Investment Program partner for P.R.O.S.P.E.R initiative. The 8-month leadership and development training program empower veterans in their transition to civilian life, immersing them in eight unique industries through a hands-on, ecosystem-based approach. P.R.O.S.P.E.R. offers veterans a structured path to discovering purpose and building meaningful civilian careers.

Founded in 2019 by James and Lynnetta Smith, CB2TB is a veteran founded and operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses personal experience and community relationships to assist military veterans and their families in transitioning to the civilian sector. The organization helps each client transition into the workforce through entrepreneurship, education, leadership and development training along with health and wellness support.
