Bluffton Fire: 2024 saw record responses

BLUFFTON, S.C. (WSAV) – 10,801. That’s the number of incidents the Bluffton Township Fire District (BTFD) responded to in 2024. That was a slight increase from 2024.

The majority of calls in 2024 were for medical emergencies (6,917), followed by fire-related incidents (167) and hazardous conditions (136). BTFD’s busiest stations were Station 34, responding to 2,588 calls, and Station 38, with 2,078 calls.

December alone accounted for 951 calls.

“The men and women of the Bluffton Township Fire District continue to rise to the challenges of a growing community with professionalism and dedication,” said Fire Chief Paul Boulware. “Our increased call volume reflects the trust our residents place in us, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting lives and property in Bluffton and the surrounding service area.”
