Flannery O’Connor centennial birthday celebration Sunday

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — March 25 will mark what would have been the 100th birthday of celebrated Savannah author Flannery O’Connor. Her childhood home , located near Lafayette Square, is listed as both a historical landmark and museum.

On Sunday, March 23, Lafayette Square will be the site of a birthday party and local author book fair to honor O’Connor. More than 40 local authors, vendors and craft makers will be on hand for everyone to enjoy. There will be a birthday cake, Panhandle Slim art, a parade and a Flannery look-alike contest.

The event starts at noon and is free to the public…
