Low-to-no-cost energy efficiency program grant terminated in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A grant that is used for an energy efficiency program to assist vulnerable populations in Savannah has been terminated, city officials told WSAV Saturday.

A City of Savannah spokesperson said that city staff were notified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that the $1 million Environmental Justice Government-to-Government Program (EJG2G) grant has been terminated.

The grant was awarded in August of 2024 to establish a low-to-no-cost energy efficiency program. The $1 million grant also contained a workforce training component to increase the local supply of electricians…
