SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – The Georgia Department of Transportation said crews, who have been working to reopen the busy bridge since July last year, have completed necessary repairs to open another lane on the northbound side.
They are shifting the traffic to accommodate these improvements and will work on the southbound side, which will remain one-lane. GDOT said crews will now work to replace the bridge beam, pour concrete on the deck (roadway), and replace the bridge wall.
