City of Savannah: Forsyth Fountain to undergo first major restoration since 1988

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — WSAV News 3 has learned from the City of Savannah that the iconic Forsyth Fountain will undergo a major restoration this summer.

Pending City Council approval of a future agenda item, the city will coordinate with a contractor to remove the fountain in Forsyth Park in early summer for a full off-site restoration.

Savannah Press Secretary Joshua Peacock told News 3, “The staff has taking steps to ensure no weddings or special events planned to use the fountain as a backdrop are scheduled while the fountain is being restored. A timeline for the restoration project has not yet been established.” Peacock went on to say additional information will be released as it becomes available…
