These Southern classics have been named Georgia’s official state stew, bread

SAVANNAH, Ga. — It’s a Southern classic and has now been designated Georgia’s official state stew: Brunswick stew.

According to a release from the Georgia House on Monday, HB 233 was signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp in Savannah, Georgia.

The bill was sponsored by Rick Townsend (R-Brunswick). It designated new official state symbols for the Peach State, including Brunswick stew as the official state stew and cornbread as Georgia’s official state bread…
