GDOT asking for public feedback on proposed I-16 widening

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has recently proposed a widening of Interstate 16.

According to GDOT, the proposed project would widen I-16 from two to three lanes eastbound and westbound between I-95 and (SR) 67 in Bulloch, Bryan, Effingham, and Chatham counties.

As part of the widening, 20 bridges in 10 locations will also be widened or replaced. The proposed project will improve existing substandard pavement conditions within the I-16 corridor.

GDOT is holding in-person public information open houses on the following days:
