MACON, Ga. — A former Macon mayor is calling on city and county leaders to rally behind a long-envisioned passenger rail project that could reshape how Central Georgians travel between major cities in the state.
Robert Reichert, who served as Macon’s mayor from 2008 to 2020, plans to speak at City Hall on Tuesday to update Macon-Bibb County officials on the Georgia Department of Transportation’s ongoing study for an intercity passenger railway connecting Atlanta, Macon and Savannah.
