SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — When the temperatures rise, we automatically think of ways to stay cool. But don’t forget your phone can overheat too. Here is some advice on how to keep your phone from frying when the thermometer climbs.
- Keep your phone out of direct sunlight. Don’t put your phone on the dashboard when you drive.
- Avoid overusing your phone in the heat. Limit gaming, video streaming or using GPS.
- Take your phone out of the protective case if it feels hot to the touch.
- Turn off unnecessary features like wi-fi, Bluetooth and background apps.
- Let your phone cool off naturally. If it’s hot, power it down and let it rest.
Keeping these things in mind will not only protect your phone, but they can also protect you too. You can’t use your phone in an emergency situation if it shuts down due to excessive heat.
