Good day – Stormteam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley here – let’s have a fabulous Thursday! We are saying goodbye to the unbearable and intense heat today as we slowly settle back into that typical summertime pattern we all know and love: low 90s with pop-up afternoon storms.
Today – storms will begin to increase after lunchtime and continue through this evening. Most storms will develop along the sea breeze west of I-95. Strong and severe storms are possible due to the hot and humid conditions. Gusty wind will be the primary threat with frequent lightning and heavy rain. Scattered storms are possible late in the evening before tapering off by midnight.
Thanks to the higher chance of afternoon storms, high temperatures won’t be intensely hot today with highs remaining around average in the upper 80s across the beach to lower 90s inland…
