StormTeam 3: More of summer today before unsettled weather moves in mid-week

StormTeam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley here – let’s have a fabulous last day of June!

More of the same old summer story today and tomorrow: hot and humid in the afternoon with scattered sea breeze pop-up storms. Highest chance of rain will be west of I-95. High temperatures remain seasonably hot in the lower 90s away from the coast with feel-like temperatures around 100 degrees.

UNSETTLED MID-WEEK

By Wednesday, a slow-moving cold front will begin approaching the area before slowly stalling out. As it stalls out, the front will be able to tap into the moisture in the Gulf and this will bring us an elevated chance of rain showers and t-storms throughout the day.

Regardless of “formation”, it will remain weak and we are not expecting any major impacts.

Mainly just rain and maybe some breezy wind across the coast. At the very least, the higher chance of showers and storms will keep temperatures below that 90 degree mark, in the mid to upper 80s.

4th of July & Holiday Weekend

As of right now, plan to celebrate with a typical summertime pattern with scattered storms through the 2nd half of the day. Have a back up plan for outdoor events or fireworks incase a thunderstorm heads your way. Highs return to the lower 90s…
